Picture Books

Don Winn’s award-winning picture books are available from Amazon.com, Barnes and Noble.com, Amazon.co.uk, Amazon.ca, and Audible.com.

All of my picture books are designed to help parents turn children into readers by teaching valuable literacy and pre-literacy skills. Ideal for shared reading time, each story has a list of questions for discussion at the end to help parents engage their children’s minds and teach them not to be passive receivers of entertainment, but to think about what they’ve read both analytically and creatively—or “outside the book” as I like to call it.

Space Cop Zack

The three Space Cop Zack books are designed to help children foster imagination as Space Cop Zack and his robot sidekick GARG have zany space adventures based on Zack’s imagination and common household objects. Each Space Cop Zack book has a surprise illustration at the end where kids can see which household items inspired Zack’s adventures and try to match them up to events in the story.

Space Cop Zack, Protector of the Galaxy

Space Cop Zack and his faithful robot sidekick GARG chase the terrible Dr. Dogbreath across the galaxy. Together they brave bad smells, squishy slime, giant ocean monsters, and motion sickness. Will Zack and GARG finally capture Dr. Dogbreath or will he escape their grasp? That will all depend on where your imagination takes you.
